S14 starts then engine cuts out
 

Good day, I was trying a search but the seach goes to page not found window. My 1997 S14 starts up then quickly dies after about half a second. If I hold the throttle for while starting, it'll rev up to about five thousand then slowly the engine would die out. I can do this repeatly and the vehicle does the same thing over and over again. I checked fuel pump and appears to work normally. Error code comes out saying the Idle Air Contoller is faulty, but I don't think this would cause this problem. Does any one have any clue why this would be.

The vehicle has original KA24DE and used to be an automatic. Thanks for help. And for the rest of you, sorry for wasting your time.

sound like your distributor may be going bad, or is bad.
