Steering rack/column U joint….
So with my engine out of my car, i decided it might be nice to change the rubber column bushing to a solid one.
To shortly put it, it was a pain in my ass…. When installing the u joint that connects the rack to the lower steering column shaft, i installed the shaft 180 degrees of what it came out of the car.. For reference: http://i69.photobucket.com/albums/i7...d/Untitled.jpg Thats how it was before taking it out…. It is now 180 of that. As is the U joint. I wouldn't figure this is a problem due to the shaft being only a straight piece of metal, and the u joint being able to spin freely in either direction, regardless of how it is mounted. Will this be a problem? |

If the u joint was swapped top/bottom 180* you won't have any issue. If you spun the U joint and shaft 180* and re installed it, you're steering will be off big time.
