What's the project? Feels like yesterday I was asking people to take a poll for my freshman engineering courses.

Well the drift kids love dildo shifters (reminds them of time with their dad), so the poll will tell you to fab a dildo shifter.
Try a few shapes out in your hand to decide what is gonna be best for you. Your arm length will play a little factor. If you can't comfortably get a wrap around grip on the dong shifter, one of the other shapes may suit you better.
The factory shape is boring, but was chosen by the engineers because it is best for over hand shifting. You hook your fingers over the top when you pull back so you don't miss the gear, and push with your palm. I prefer wider than factory though.

Voted too. But as for materials i say anything but metal. I hate metal knobs in the summer
