Where to buy a SR on the East Coast
 

I posted this up a few months ago but it got deleted. Im looking for a good place to buy a SR on the east coast. I was told Elite JDM so Im more than likely getting it from them. Your thoughts?

Japanese Engine Import (JEI) in VA, cool guys and all their swaps are super clean.

New member here chimming with a 04 350Z but currently working on a S14 build. Any reviews of JDMENGINEDEPOT? they are about 1/2 hour away from me!

JDMEngineDepot is not cheap...they will also try to not give you all the parts you need out the door or give you the wrong parts (i.e. MAF, ignitor, ECU)

When I got my kouki SR20DET, the turbo was CLEARLY blown if they had ever started it up. The refused to replace it as it was not a "warranty" part and told me that I didn't need the turbo to run the motor (which says "TURBOCHARGED" right on the valve cover). They told me they've had issues with their people at the Japanese junkyard swapping good parts off for bad parts and still didn't want to help me out.

I think they have one of the worst warranties out of many engine dealers, but allow you to inspect and pick any motor they have. They did not provide compression tests, leak down tests, or start-up tests.

They also cracked the fuel rail while picking it up and loading it into the truck which they offer a small small amount back to me for.

The $2500 motor wound up costing me $3500 in the end.

On the bright side at least it's better than Zerolift, they took my $ and never gave me a motor at all.

Roll the dice when u buy from most importers...

Of course, doing business like i do, buying and selling only perfect swaps does come with a price.. junk is cheap, good stuff costs money
