My 2JZGTE VVTI Build
I want to start this build thread by saying I got this beauty for only $900! The guy bought it with the intent of doing an LS swap and lost interest...His loss is my gain! Enough with the B.S and onto the goals and progress....
1989 coupe Options List: VLSD Sunroof HUD Power Mirrors Maybe more not sure..... As soon as I got her I knew what I was going to do.... A 2jz swap! So I joined on here and a few other forums, and started doing my research. Realized the 2JZGTE VVTI was the way to go! More low end tq and same top end as for what the supra is known for? A "no brainer" if you ask me! So I called up one of our local parts importers JEI(Japanese Engine Importers) real cool guys hooked me up big time! I got a 2jzgte w/auto trans swap for $1600 came with everything unlike most other places (the ignitor, maf something else i'm forgetting....I did my research and couldnt justify paying more for a transmisson then I did the swap...So I chose a VQ 6speed trans which they had and I got from them for $700....and they had a silvia conversion also minus the hood so I got that for $600 came with the 2 projector headlights and clear corners...And since I have a business I was exempt from sales tax which was pretty sweet! I will take some pics of status today. **Update 2/13/16** KA has been removed and cleaned the engine bay Started gutting the almost mint interior |
