SR20DET vs. RB25DET

Planning on buying a 240 hatch soon. Any opinions on getting an RB25DET over the SR? I know making it emissions passable is hard, but can be done. But that's besides the point. Was also debating an older BMW M-series engine. Any opinions/info?
