s13 SR20DET transmission question
 

Any body have an idea what the silver thing next to the gears is? It's real flimsy and I'm just wondering if it's important.

Also what's the best way to clean and re lubricate the gears they are nasty as hell. And what to use to re lubricate the gears.

Nvm it's the oil deflector I just don't remember it on my s14 maybe it was missing. Still need some advice on cleaning it up though.

Parts washer and then fresh gear oil.
