My SR24 Beast S13.5 Build.
 

I've contemplated on making a build thread for so long. There are so many awesome builds on here and I wasn't sure if mine would even compare, but I figured I needed to share this setup and see what everyone thinks of the Stroker SR20! After seizing my S14 motor about a year ago, I decided to rebuild or go RB. I even considered going LS, but my obsession with the SR20 seemed to have a grasp on me. I ended up with an S13 stroker fully built drag setup long block. I've poured sweat, blood and tears trying to get this together over the last 6 months now.

The motor setup is almost all complete and ready to be fired up for the first time. Just a few more weeks of sweatin' and bleedin' left to go, not to mention bigger pocket holes. I am looking forward to seeing the #'s this motor puts down after it's properly broken in. I'm not worried so much of the HP #'s because I know the motor was built for and can handle a 1000HP with the proper setup. I didn't want a drag 240 but a track and drift setup seemed way more fun and maybe much less of breakdowns. I wanna see the power band it achieves with the t.s Full Race setup and on low boost/pump gas. For now! :naughty:

I've learned a lot from my mistakes over the past 10 years of being an SR owner, dealing with the wrong people and what not. DIY has been my motto on most of this build, one reason being labor cost and the other reason is just knowing you did the work. Any input or ideas from my fellow Zilvians could be new knowledge and is always welcome. Feel free to post any questions, suggestions and or comments! Goodbye S14 motor!! :sadwavey: 310HP (on Dynapak) wasn't enough power but it will be missed! This was my first and only SR since 1999 which I beat the hell out of, it was only a matter of time before something went wrong! 310 to the wheels was nice, but I seriously need something that's gonna scare the livin' crap out of me!

All Earl's plumbing, took a while to figure out the right and perfect setup for custom made turbo and fuel lines. Lots of measuring and fitting went into this stuff. But hey not bad for my first time with AN assembly and install.

The problem here was I had built this motor and assembled all the bolt on parts but I had to get it down the stairs somehow! Believe it or not me and my bro brought this thing down a narrow flight of steps by ourselves on this custom made wooden dolly thingy!

Injector Dynamics 1000cc high impedance injectors are here. Took some Vaseline to get these babies in just right. Good idea Sirac!

why did you paint the engine bay before making headlight brackets and how will you mount a bumper support?

Really don't understand the tub work either. I mean the motor itself looks like a great drag strip motor.

Looks like a custom removable front valve cover. For adjusting cam gears.

I seem to do things the way I plan them out in my head. I had the 15 front end before and I pretty much know where and how I will attach the new brackets. I did my hood latches after the paint and they came out pretty well! I'll make the custom brackets and drill the holes for them on the core support. Getting all the welds complete before the paint was my main concern. I'll do the same with the inside, cage first then paint. Oh, as for the tubs, I really wanted them gone all the way to the towers, but I decided to keep them and get rid of the front flat sections instead. I think it looks good with the stock tub sections and I didn't see the need for custom high style tubs. I got just enough clearance!

LOL! :duh: Man I was so stressed out on bringing it down in 1 piece. Instead of carrying it we used the 4x4's as sleds and slowly slid the whole thing down. Thank God it made it down safely.

Thanks! I hear the B.C. kits are pretty sick as well. We'll find out how the Peak Performance stroker kit does pretty soon! The valve cover is gonna be used for ease of tuning the gears w/o removing the whole cover on every adjustment. Not too sure if it will seal for the track though, I might get another permanent valve cover or have this one welded shut after the tune.

I got these 300zx calipers sandblasted, rebuilt, & Looking brand new again. Thanks Kim for hookin' it up on the rebuild. Now I need to have them painted with a high temp. mix. I'll either do the Laguna seca blue or a gloss black on all 4 calipers.

Also, I got my chassis harness done. I deleted all unneeded plugs, relays, and wires and rerouted the whole ugly engine bay chassis harness with all the relays and fuse boxes right under the dash. I eliminated 1 of the relay boxes completely and retained all relays into 1 box. All the gauges and electronics are pretty much hooked up and vacuum lines ran. I still have some sensors to finish. I'll post some pics of the dash and wiring work later on today if I get a chance.

I can't run the rears till I get all the missing hardware pieces and e-brake cables. But maybe I'll run a separate hydro e-brake later!
