weapon r intake good or bad?
 

so im sure many of you have seen the claims that weapon r makes regarding its "3x's more air" secret weapon itake

any of you guys have one and so would be able to share your experiences with me as to what you think about it.

according to other reviews there are very mixed feelings about it

i voted "worth buying" because you'de gotta be an idiot to even consider that cheap shit

weapon R just sounds BADASS! Get it for the name. That way when it the name blows up you can say you were the first!

I got reffed for a Apexi intake few years back.

I prefer stock piping with a kragen adapter and a 10 dollar filter

I wouldn't trust their air filter. Looks like foam crap.
Their intake tubing is nothing special. Just like everything else. That magic red tube in the ads "is for illustrative purposes only" and none of the intakes have dual tubes. They are trying to show the magic bull shit their dual entry foam air filter is supposed to do. To bad their R&D department slept through physics class.

Well, actually, Weapon-R is one of the higher end companies as far as "rice" US companies are concerned.

They are one of the few companies that actually fabricate parts in house & test-fit on actual cars instead of just blindly copying other products.

Most of their intake systems are also CARB'd: Weapon*R Racing Development

They may not make the craziest performance parts on this side of the globe, but what they do do (intake systems, accessories such as coolant & power steering reservoirs), they do well.

That being said, OP: for the n/a 240sx, an intake is basically an intake. Since you are in Cali, any CARB intake system will do you just fine.

if you had a v8 in your 240, a intake would add HP.

Instead you should get

1) lightweight crank pulley
2) lightweight flywheel
3) 1 piece ds (aluminum)

as for engine bay bling since your car is a show car

get whatever looks dope, you can even have machinist make you a dope ass engraved piping and just use a maf adapter and use like a hks filter. Should come out to the same cost of a injen / brand name.

i have the full unorthodox racing pulley set. alt, crank, steering, and water, going to get the aluminum ds down the road. and yea later on flywheel. i can only burn through so much money haha

just polish your engine crap, 10 bucks in materials and its add to the look.
valve cover, timing etc. and just reseal.

try to get some good spark plugs

ngk spark plug wires

new dizzy/cap

cams

hotshot headers

quiet or deep toned exhaust that looks nice

and as for stock ka performance

your done

and since you have my old engine, you already know it pulls so yeaa

well i though the ngk iridiums came with the engine you sold me,
plus i got the dc headers, apexi dual n1, catco high flow cat

It did come with iridiums, but your gonna have to change them once in a while.

try to find a injen/aem intake piping then go to kragen.

they sell a MAF adapter in the ricer performance mod section.

Get that in conjunction with a hks filter and you will be balling

engine is fine, brian is hopefully swapping it in this weekend. i had to buy a whole buncha parts first when my single cam blew. so hopefully itlle be done in a week

its a wow factor, I personally wouldnt rock one but If your in a show circuit

k/n doesnt cut it on an import with the judges...

certain things i will keep performance orientated. as i have to still reliably drive it.
