2002 q45 diff in s13

I was wondering if anyone had installed a 2002 q45 diff in a s13 i would really like that 2.76 gear

I'd love a 3.08 or 3.23. 2.76? Hmm Maybe. Depends how difficult to put in.

Good question, and I'm curious for S14 also

From what i can tell in pictures it looks like a 350z diff so it may be the same work as the 350z diff

Whats the stock gear for comparison?

Factory is most likely something around 4.08 or 4.11 unless you're running a J30 (3.91) or JDM diff (4.36 is possible).

**However, keep in mind that the F50 Q (02-06) is not an LSD as far as I know so probably not worth the upgrade.

I still feel that the 350Z/G35 and early model Q45 (G50 chassis w/ 3.53 gear) from 90-96 are the best options as they can be bolted in as long as you swap axles, hubs, etc. depending on which one you choose.

You better be making some power if you're going to drop below 3.91 or 3.73 (Y33 ratio from the 97-01 Q45) or the car is gonna be a dog. I had a 3.53 in my LS swapped S14 making 450ish wheel and with the longer ratio trans from the F-body, it was fun, but definitely affected the feel of the car. I was barely shifting into 4th before the 1/4 mile end. On a 100 shot, it was a different animal and probably just the right ratio for the car.

***Always factor in the tire size and trans ratios as well when making the decision on diff ratio.

Cool thanks for info, so it sounds like factory housing with an aftermarket diff best option?
