irax 12-05-2008 08:40 PM

powered by max coilovers will get you as low as you want! be sure to get their toe arm for slammed cars, and their matching camber arm too.

OTG Vinyl 12-05-2008 08:50 PM

lunatyk 12-05-2008 09:06 PM

Why do you need other options, kts is great quality. Wish I got them while they had that ultra-low option.

Group Buy Numero 2: Fortune 40 way adjustable Coilovers Awesome Price! - VAdriven.com Forums. good buy, great coilovers for pretty cheap and they go low

CoreyS13 12-05-2008 09:15 PM

You realize a car that is basically scraping the ground sucks for track use? It may look good but say bye bye to handling.

Everyone knows that.

it's not that bad anyway.

i know this but the coilovers are adjustable meaning for the weekend at the track and when she needs to get on the trailer i can raise the car up a bit you know ... for better handling

i want to be able to slam it for photos and shows

Umm...you gonna have an alignment machine with you when you raise the car for "better handling"?!?! :duh:

You fuck around with the ride height, you fuck around with the aligment...so that may not be something you wanna do on a regular basis cuz your alignment will be off every single time you mess around with it...:duh:

:rofl:Is there even a 40 way ajustable? haha... You should really just get good track hieght coilovers so that you have good handling and then at shows lower it. Don't go spend money on shit that is going to mess with your peformance. Also, your wheels won't bend that much when you drop it so most people won't even notice. Just throwin' my two cents in...

murda-c 12-06-2008 11:42 AM

Look if i don't put clicks on the knob, i can put whatever number i want.

A PUNK 12-06-2008 11:55 AM

I'm not following you... WTF did you say? haha

murda-c 12-06-2008 12:00 PM

Alot of shock adjusters don't click when you turn them, so you could really divide the adjustment up as small as you want. The number of adjustments doesn't really affect the adjustment range anyway.

I agree that you dont NEED 40 way adjustable.... but then again, you dont need a turbo engine, nor do you need to be low with flush ass fitment in the first place. But it's nice. lol

There are ways to properly adjust suspension so you can be low and handle great. go to shows and lower it? are we in fast and furious?

what the f*ck does that even mean? I'm sure youre talking about the amount of camber, but jesus christ you need to learn some more automotive vocabulary words.

A PUNK 12-06-2008 12:51 PM

Haha, yeah. That was the word. I couldn't find it for the life of me. Is this car a Daily driver or a track car or a show car...

atutt 12-06-2008 05:07 PM

I like my JIC-FLT-A2's... Kinda. lol
This is how I'm set now. I could still drop it another 3'' if I removed some collars and whatnot.

By that I mean you can't tell the difference from maybe max stiff and max soft. so really its just 2 way adjustable with 38 clicks in between. and wider stance does make a difference... but with your logic you dont NEED a car or the internet anyways... but if you WANT quality coilovers that go low Powered By Max is what i recommend.

I mean, you can tell a difference between max stiff and soft. Kind of like wiper speed. you have low, med, and high. then you have the adjustment knob to get it juuuuuuust right.

anyway... quality and lowness. PBM def. Just thought I'd give another opinion.

FaLKoN240 12-06-2008 06:15 PM

Just shut up all you guys getting butt hurt defending your friend's coilovers or whatever.

All that adjustability is just window dressing to sell a product.

Megans have 32 way adjustability or some crap, but you can't even tell the difference between 8 and 10.

If you want coilovers Stance for S chassis were specially built to go low.

Pretty much any coilover can go low, you just gotta know what to do during installation.

If you gotta ask what kind of coilovers you should get you need to do more research.

Everyone in here is going to have a skewed opinion based on what they own/owned.

I've had Tein SS- KTS- KBee- Tein Super Drift

In that order and I consider the last set the best set of coilovers I've ever owned.

rps13drift 12-06-2008 06:41 PM

powered by max if you wanna go low! End of story.

holemilk00 12-06-2008 06:52 PM

I put my stances down as low as they would go last night and I couldn't even sit the car all the way down, the wheels were hitting the top of the inner fenders, the body kit was hitting the ground up front, and the rear housing was on the ground, I just about couldn't get it back up to lift it.

But back "Off" topic, you need to worry about wearing your axle joints changing the ride height that often.

BoostedCoupe 12-06-2008 08:04 PM

I have ksports and they go low here is a pic of the car now. Car has 18's and the coils are not maxed out. i belive i could sit the car on the frame if i wanted to.

A PUNK 12-07-2008 05:10 PM

I am thinking about getting a set of Ksports for my S13. I have heard good things about 'em.

if all you're concerned with is slamming it for photo shoots, airbags wouldn't be a bad idea. but if you actually want to track your car or enjoy its handling then just get a good set of coilovers and an origin kit, you won't even have to slam it for it to be on the ground, the origin kit looks low as is.

TheSquidd 12-14-2008 10:56 AM

I gotta go with PBM coils. Every dumped SD car is on them. They have like, the best price ever and I am told they are super durable.

And yeah. My Silkroads had 8-way adjustments. And it was fucking NICE. You could actually feel what the difference was.

But I couldn't brag to all my JDM friends that had 64-way adjustable Megans :cj:

Enna 12-15-2008 12:06 AM

Not the cheapest but I got Tein Super Drifts on my S14, Its slammed but I can still go alot lower on my coilover.

2 Finger clearance on the frame rails. Thats how you roll. Still can't compare to whoever it was that couldn't run over a quarter.

Spaceboy 12-20-2008 07:39 PM

I have D2s on my s13 and i cant even tuck tire with them slammed.

Had 18s with a 255-35 and was just above tire

i dont like them but they have held up great for over 2 yrs

That's what I got and shit is cherry for going low.

I just can't get up the energy to get off my ass and take off some of the front collars.

I don't know if this has been mentioned yet or not, but KTS has newer versions: low, and ultra low for like $175-200 more. They offer a lower Swift spring set up and a smaller shock body for extra slammness

Does that put the price up there with Tein Flex/Super Drifts?

If so, still not worth it.

My KTS were cool as like, a learning set, or a first set of coilovers, but I would NEVER buy them again, when they got old, they sucked.

adrians_s13 12-21-2008 04:52 PM

yeah... you're looking at around ~$1300 for the shorter dampers and springs.

More detail on why you wouldn't go back to KTS's? Like.. on the "sucking" part... leaky dampers or something?

AznDrftr. 12-21-2008 05:10 PM

love the stance on the gold coupe. looks good. i think my next set of coils is powered by max, hear a lot of good things about them.

well.. how dedicated are you? if ride quality is an issue then you should have rims larger than 15's lol but for the most part it's very firm...

btw that coupe isn't mine, its my friend tommy robberts drift competitor.

Naw I just had them for a while.

They were a good entry level coilover at the time, but people barely run them anymore because there are much better options out there for an entry level coil.

I would recommend Stance (GREAT prices for some used ones out there)

or

PBM (good customer service, and constant development on their products)

ayuaddict 12-21-2008 08:32 PM

i have KTS.

had them on 3 S13s now.

i like them personally but i had a set of Tein Super Drifts that i wish i kept, felt SUPER nice.

anyhow.

this is on KTS modified with shorter tein springs and smaller pillowball spacer dealio.

articdragon192 12-21-2008 08:35 PM

Tein Flexes can go super low. Here is the front maxed with all the collars still in place. Take them out and you got about another 1.5-2 inches left. I was tired of adjusting the coils, so I only maxed the fronts and not the rears. The rears could still go lower though. I'd hit reflectors on the freeway when changing lanes and my oilpan actually hit one of the bigger reflectors on the streets. Scary shit, lol.

DON"T BUY K-SPORTS

I had some and hated them they were too bouncy and they were not designed very well. Like you couldn't keep the ajustment knobs in them and close the hood...WTF? ANd they just didn't feel right. Like the shocks were not valved right or something. They only have (I think) 7 and 9k springs but they felt as stiff as my friends megan track coilovers. Maybe I just got a bad pair bit thats my 2 cents.

O and they don't go low at all.

Just don't buy them end of story

They actually don't go that low without removing collars. This is them set to max low(which really isn't that low):
http://i265.photobucket.com/albums/i...g?t=1229953878

I've also owned a set of pbm coils. The pbm coils will go much lower.

Jdotsturn 12-22-2008 10:46 AM

Yea i have stance right now. I'm maxed out in the rear and drooping the spring 1" and it still isnt low enough for me. I'm thinking of selling them and getting some PBMs.

i dont know about the ride quality i have only riden in my car with ksports and megan's felt about the same, but as for lowness.... the k sports can go reallllly low like the other dude with 18's said you could put the frame on the floor if you wanted to i belive, but they do go plenty low

Yeah I gotta modify the front wells a bit so I can go lower. Rears I gotta raise like an inch, then get it setup so it can go back down again. I'm not even close to maxing them out and my ass is on the ground. The fronts got like 1 1/2 inches to ground and about still 2" left on the coils.

Tein for the sexy and quality low.

touge dreamer 01-03-2009 04:54 AM

go with powered by max.... there great and also affordable. 10-way adjustable, and you can feel the difference, no reason for 40-way... haha.. Plus they go super low.

240RICHisGOD 01-05-2009 03:46 AM

id get powered by max, i hear the cool color adds like 4 hp too.. definatly

unlegendary 01-05-2009 04:27 AM

get powered by max, pbm, max coilovers, whatever u wanna call em. MANY MANY MANY people are amazed on how low they can go and finally they say "who the eff does this?" but they do it anyway cause gangsta rap made them do it.

Flipzide 01-05-2009 04:32 AM

Get MAX coilovers.

Shits so low that even on max ride height, it still looks low.

Mine are set so low that the ratchet I tie my car down with on my trailer can't fit under the front bumper/intercooler on the car.

C. Anderson 01-20-2009 05:35 PM

The only thing with the PBM coils is they don't offer the z32 rear lower mounts for the z32 aluminium uprights on the s chassis coils.

anything with an adjustable damper.but at the same time u can't compromise THAT much. u need to sacrifice something because if u want a "comfy" ride, you should buy a buick.

Z33dori 05-23-2009 08:50 AM

Stance GR+ for a comfy street but still handles on rails setup

or even GR+pro

I mean I have a daily driver but at the same time I'd like to be able to take out the s13 for a cruise and enjoy it ya know.....so you guys recommend Stance GR+ or the Pro's? Im sorry im new to the suspension aspect of cars....been more of a electrical guy due to my field of work.

kalypso123 05-30-2009 08:00 AM

its always good to be the electrical guy... nothing wrong with that.

didderson 05-31-2009 06:48 PM

I would say the stance coils for you MDbizman are probably the right choice. A friend of mine wanted the same thing, superior handling and adjustable coils with a decent ride quality. He went with Stance. I assume the pro's but I'm not sure. All I know is he was ecstatic about driving his 240 after he installed, and got bit by the suspension mod bug ;) ended up installing aftermarket arms etc!
Moral of the story, they were what he was looking for and I assume you are looking for the same mayne.
