need help with brakes
 

hey guys have a newbish question how do i get the front caliper piston to go back so i can get the pads to fit. thank you.

ps. sorry if its been covered i searched but didnt get a answer.

put the boot in the cylinder but not all the way in, just so that the little notches line up, put the piston into the boot, then push the piston in so that the notches line up on the piston and cylinder. heres a picture from the FSM :bigok:... http://img01.picoodle.com/img/img01/...nm_2c621ea.jpg

I used to just hammer the piston back in when I have the bleeder valve open or the brake line off when I had stock brakes. I can't do that anymore since I upgraded to Z brakes.

please, for ur own sake if anyone decides to "hammer" the piston back in, use a rubber mallet.
