S13 broken fuel filler door release
 

I just bought an s13 and I'm working on fixing all the little things, one of the broken pieces is the release for the fuel door
The cable and release are there and move, but the threaded plastic that the nylon nut screws onto broke off so the release won't stay in place.

Is it possible to just replace that part by itself? Or do I need to replace the entire cable? I tried prying it off, but didnt use too much force in fear off breaking the cable and having to replace the entire cable.

Mine just broke and won't stay closed. Thinking about adding a magnetic setup or something.

Not a bad idea. It's a pretty common problem, I'm surprised I haven't seen more solutions or fixes.

can you not just super glue the threaded plastic part back together?

If I had it, I could. I'm pretty sure this piece broke a few years before I got it. Previous owner was really awful at fixing things. In diagnosing why the car audio was popping and cracking, I discovered the audio wires were duct taped together. :facepalm:
