SR Turbo Oil Feed Issue
 

I recently picked up a complete SR that had been sitting for quite sometime and found it has a stripped oil feed. This isn't a big deal, but upon further inspection I found the hole to the oil passage is incredibly tiny compared the the two other blocks I have and 4 others friends checked.

The picture below is what the engine in question looks like inside the turbo oil feed, you can tell the threads have seen better days and the very small hole leading into the oil passage.

I have verified the block is a DET block, not a drilled/tapped DE block. I am wondering if anyone has seen something like this? I can't tell if there is a broken off fitting in the hole, but before I start drilling into it I wanted to confirm that this is not normal.

From the comparison pics looks like something is in there(looks shallower) but if ur 100% sure theres not. Just drill it open ..grease on the drill bit and go slow, clean up as u go. Help keep shavings out of the oil passage.

can you take an off-angle shot of the hole you have so i can see the threads? from the image it looks like a broken off banjo bolt or something.

preliminary thoughts are, someone welded the hole shut then drilled a smaller one to act as an oil restriction for a bb turbo.

Noones welding that precisely in there lol

Something was broken off in there....reverse drill bit will solve this

lol idk people do some weird shit. that was just a shot in the dark, cant really tell whats going on with the threads. if its something stuck in there yeah extraction bit. easy.

Thanks guys, it was really confusing me, but broken off banjo seems like the case. I'll try to get it out tomorrow with a small reverse bit/extractor and see what happens.

Could be a broken off end of an AN Adapter/restrictor.

I as of late got a total SR that had been sitting for at some point and discovered it has a stripped oil feed. This is anything but a serious deal, yet upon further investigation, I found the gap to the oil entry is unbelievably minuscule looked at the two different squares I have and 4 other companions checked.
