NC Drift Days/Skidpads
 

I've been out of the drifting game for a long time (10+ years) and even then I hadn't spent a whole lot of time behind the wheel. Does anyone in NC run any skid pads or anything like that where I can get my confidence back and get used to my setup or is summit point the only place?

Piedmont Dragstrip has drift days. It's just outside of Greensboro, NC.

there are also events in myrtle beach.

Piedmont Drift at Piedmont Dragway in Julian NC. Events are held once a month, give or take.

$10 to enter the facility (drivers, spectators, everyone), $5 for a passenger-only wristband, $40 for a driver/passenger wristband. Helmet and close-toed shoes required. Shorts and t-shirts are fine (thankfully, cuz it gets hot as balls out there). Always open track style, never competition. No heats or run groups. Cageless tandem is a-ok. Super laid back group of people. By far the most fun event around here.

The course runs thru a couple narrow access roads and into a large parking lot. The various access roads allow for a handful of different course configurations. Generally all 2nd or 3rd gear, depending on the layout and your gearing. The asphalt type changes a few times, making you really pay attention to the course. It's not flat either; there's a nice crest in the middle of the course, making transfers down the hill pretty fun. Definitely more challenging than a plain ol' parking lot or skidpad. Oh, and bonus difficulty if you have a super low car; there are some nasty bumps if you take a bad line.
