Is a front strut bar hard to install ? will i notice any difference in handling?

did u buy the bars yet? if not then there are some good deals online. or else if u r lazy to check then i can get them for $65 then ship them to u, shipping unknown.....these are the tools you need... a socket wrench (hehe dont even need deep sockets for the 240sx) and a torque wrench... take off the 6 nuts (3 on each side) then adjust the bar to the right size by turning it, just try to make it even on both sides. when you are close put one end on and turn the other end to fit... then tighten the bar by turning it, then tighten the nuts for the adjustmen... then torque down the nuts... i will have the torque specs tommorrow, i just ahve to look in my trusty chilton manual. then tighten the adjustment nuts one more time.... if u can then use a high torque wrench to tighten it but not too tight (i used an air gun, becareful not to over tighten) then u r done....
simple? if u ahve 1/2 a brain u can figure it out... if u have less than 1/2 a brain then i can help u some more... hehe =)

To make the bars effective you have to do a procedure called preloading. After you install the bars you must lift the car off the ground, preferably by a center point in the car, for the rear lift it by the rear axle, the front should be lifted by under the front L&amp;R wheels. After it is lifted you want to expand the bar as much as you can so when you lower the car back down there is no chasis flex. Without doing this Strut Bars are simi pointless. With doing preloading Strut bars are a #### of a deal <img src="#/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':)'> If I find a writeup on this I will post it in more detail.

i did my bars.. right now i have read and fronts. and stock suspension
and boy do i feel the difference, can't wait till i drop it, *drooling* the ride is much stiffer...
west: i didnt know that u have something call preload but i did have my car up anyways... hehe... but u do still feel it when if u dont' preload it... i had it unpreloaded and then i tightened again when it was on a lift, yes it is stiff &nbsp;if u preload it, but it is not pointless if u dont

One suggestion if I may make since you sound like a suspension dude, do you have plans for sway bars? they made a HUGE diference in the cornering ability of my 240. I honestly have only a little body roll with my whitelines. Certinly worth 300 er so $

haha i wish... but no money man.... i am doing my sound (subs), body kit, spoiler, intake, exhuast, plugs, wires, lighting, brakes (cross drill or sloted with metallc pads) and body work all at the same time now... i wanna do some of those things first before i think abt sway bars.....

Prices look good. I want to get a body kit and paint it Silver/Blue Chameleon Paint <img src="#/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':)'> But paint is to expensive. My paint now looks like ass. Black 240sx always look nice, then so do Midnight Blue ones, but then so do silver! Those are my three FAV colors for the 240. That would be hard to do on a Hatchback. What would you do with the center panel?
