Got my $30 check in the mail from Nvidia for the 970 memory debacle class action lawsuit. Still pretty happy with the card, works well enough with my oc 2500k at 1080p lol.

I never understood the outrage. 3.5 or not the 970 was and still is a good card.

Someone pointed it out, someone else started whining about missing that little bit of vram and it spread to a bunch of 970 owners. I get being annoyed that you were told it was a 4GB card and finding out it really only has 3.5GB, but I bet the majority of the people complaining about it have never had a performance issue cause by that missing memory.

So I want to get into using CAD software and gaming, hopefully using the same computer.
Through school, we can buy some of their computer surplus stuff dirt cheap. I'm not sure if its used but they are pretty cheap enough to atleast consider them.

what I'm currently doing is looking at their spec sheets from the factory to see how upgradeable they can be.All of these are less than $300, most hanging around 100-250
