Good shops in Portland/Salem area
 

Can anyone refer me to some good performance shops? I'm looking for a good place to get my SR20 swap done.

Is doing the swap yourself out of the question? I'd save the money and go that route first.

There's not a lot of 240 folk in Salem generally.

There are few shops in Portland area. Where in Oregon are you?

Trackforged or PSI are probably your best bet in Portland.

I doubt either will be cheap for a swap, though.

I dont know who Trackforged is but PSI won't be cheap! haha.

SV Performance in East Portland has very good pricing on their work. Not sure what the swap price is though.

If you dont mind waiting for few weeks, I could do it in my garage? haha.

Also I know some people has a shop at home with quality work. I am sure they are cheaper than any shops in Portland.

Trackforged is in troutdale. They don't mess around with many driftcars but they build some very cool stuff. Also not so cheap. I wouldn't trust SV to do anything right....

I can also do it in my garage (in Salem), but not sure what sort of timeframe you're looking at.

I would love to do it myself actually, I just don't have a shop/tools/knowledge. I'm trying to get to know everything i can though. The perfect scenario for me would be finding someone to help me in their garage and paying them.

I may also just be a puss, and swap in another Ka for now. I dont exactly have the money for an SR atm.

Anywhere between 5-15 people.

It's not a car show or anything fancy, we just have dinner and bullshit about cars.

It's driving season, so we dont' really bother with sykart. Once the winter comes we'll do some races here and there.

i did keep it. i realized for the price i was trying to get no one would get it unless they knew what it's worth. that and, after driving my friends S13, i just felt like it was a big downgrade in terms of a daily driver.

ill slowly build the Z up for what it is.

i might show up thursday night. dont think ive brought it out there yet. last time i was there was when my s13 had the broken bolt which you gave me a replacement for :hs:

Oh yeah, z is a way better dd.

That extra 700lb over an s13 really cuts down on the NVH. Plus it's 15 years newer.
