Vin question flame on

Here we go
I have a 86 m5 bmw,65 mustang, 88mustang,02 camaro,91 240 hatch and 2 white 1994 240 verts
One of the verts I just bought has bad tags and registration it will not pass smog cx racing gt30 built bottom end 740cc injectors nistune board blaablaablaa at first I was going to just swap the engines and smog it but im lazy swapping the dash door stickers and vins on the firewall? I should be straight right

Pretty sure vin altering is a felony, especially swapping vins.
