oil leakes
 

Hey guys. I'm trying to to get my 90 240sx ready for the track, but it wont pass tech with all the leaks it has. So I stuck my head under my car and found the part that was leaking the most was this:



I don't know what it is I'm guessing its an oil pump? Can anyone tell me what it is and any ideas as to why its leaking?

Is it a KA or SR? And can you take a pic of the front

Could be a lot of things. Oil pan gasket, oil pump.

It's leaking because the seals and gaskets in it have failed. Take it off and rebuild it with new seals.

With how old theese cars are getting your probly better off getting a new oil pump. It will come with a new gasket as well, you really want to make sure your engine is staying lubercated.

check your front main seal... notorious for failing on nissans. i have to replace mine soon

Thanks you guys. I found out the part I was looking for was the oil pump. I still have not found the source of the leak but I will keep you posted as soon as do.
