S13 gas tank straps not lining up
 

Need some help, my gas tank straps are not lining up to the chassis holes. I have a brand new oem tank from Nissan, and I only took out the driver side rear bolt and passenger side front bolt

if the tank is not fully in place it will have difficulty lining up the straps...i have usually gotten just one in place, put the bolt loosely on (2-3 turns) and man handled it into place to get the second one...i usually only have to do this when tank still has fuel in it, but i can see how it would have issues empty too...otherwise you may have the wrong tank for the car...

Thanks for the reply, ended up man handling it to place, I do have the original oem tank from Nissan
