which ones do you guys recommend?

should i use rtv sealant,some other sort of silicon, or just slap it on there and bolt up?

just get some copper sealant from Auto zone for 7$ and call it a day

do you think ill be able to smear it around the leak or should i do it the right way. p.s trying to sell the car anyways

How about you just get a new gasket? They're not exactly expensive.

Do it the right way. There's already too many half broken 240's out there, with knowledgeable owner's!

Get a paper gasket. It'll leak otherwise.

Buy a gasket if you can. Otherwise cant go wrong with RTV. Use Ultra-Copper!

well the reason why i would just smear it around the vacuum leak is because i live in a apt complex and they dnt allow me to work on my car in the driveway so i cant take off the intake manifold

Take it to a friend's house & do it there. Shit man, do it in the Vatozone parking lot lol.

Although, if that's what you feel you have to do, then at least be honest with wohever buys it so they will know to fix it right down the line.

I vote buy a new gasket & fix it right. Slight PITA, but shouldn't take more than a couple hrs.

Well if I fix the vacuum leak il keep the car. Just gna try and replace the gasket then

Set aside plenty of time to get this done. If it's your first time, and you're not used to torquing on cars, it's going to take longer than you think. Take your time. You don't want to finish getting everything together only to discover you left something undone and you have to start over.

Very true. My car is actually just parked not getting driven :( due to not registering and insurance. And im pretty familuar with torqing( cross pattern ?)

I just mean torquing like you would say "wrenching on" cars. Also, I doubt you know for sure the leak is coming from where the IM manifold meets the head. I guarantee you've got some issues with the vac lines if you still have emissions. Getting rid of them isn't too hard.

The correct torquing pattern is in the FSM. You may want to print up the applicable pages & bring them out w/you. I did that when I did a head gasket and it worked out really well. And like dude up there said- take your time.

I actuallly hooked up a smoke leake test ( is thay wat its called?) And i clearly see alot of smoke coming out from where the head metes the block which in turns shows the gasket is f*****
