$7k what would you buy?
 

ok guys this is the deal i got 7k to spend on a car or mid size suv. it has to be 4 door i have a little girl so 4 door is a must. im fucking pulling my hair out trying to figure out what would be good. i just dont want some pos thats gunna break down.

so what would you buy if it was you?

lexus GS300

maybe a IS300, some are getting cheap

for SUV, late 4runners look great imo.

97-99 Q45 hands down, you can pick em up in LA for under $5k on craigslist, then spend the rest on a supercharger or suspension, lol

i was thinking about 98-2002 gs300 but i cant seem to find a nice one in my price range.

and the is300 is a no go the back middle seat has a huge hump so you can put a car seat in the middle.

Mercury Marauder or a Crown Victoria.

GS300 is running around my head. You'll see them go for $9k-ish but you can probably talk them down to $8k-ish.

i've seen gs300's go as low as 5k that would be my first choice and if not then a maxima.
i have a soft spot for those bc i used to have a 99maxima thus my sn....but yeah they are surprisingly pretty quick and decent gas mileage and look pretty good imo.

An Impala would be another choice

Practically a 98+ accord would be spacious for your family (Rear seats are roomy :naughtyd:) and it's great on gas. If money were tight, a cressida, it's big, it's comfy as hell, and if you look you can find them for a steal, i'd bet you that if you had a gs300 and a cressida parked next to one another you'd find more similarities then you thought. Although, for 7k, i'd go w/ a gs300.

q45 or 2.5RS

we have a gs300 and as much as i love it, its like the civic of the VIP world. see em everywhere

gs300, big car and decent gas mileage for its size.

Gs is a car on the top of my list when i graduate college in 2 years

Seven racks... Crown Vic, GS300, LS300, something like that.

My recommendation to you is a A32 Maxima (95-99). They are overbuilt cars and do not break at all. I have had 4 of them and they are extremely reliable. One had over 260,000 miles and it was accidentally redlined multiple times, but it kept going. They are really cheap and suprisingly roomy. Oh and the 5 speed my girl had got an average of 28 mpg.

Another good car is a 95-2001 altima. They are comfortable and my 96 5 speed got 28mpg avg. I say 95 because I am not sure if the 93 and 94 had dual airbags. The only thing that goes wrong with the KA in that car is the distributor but they are a dime a dozen at the junkyard.

Another great buy is the 99-01 Subaru Impreza 2.5RS as was stated earlier. Great looking cars along with decent reliablility and cheap repair. Another good car is also the legacy GT. I wouldn't recommend these as much as the Nissans though.

I am going to be the first to go against a luxury car like the GS300. The reason is a little higher maintenance costs and the heavier weight will reduce gas mileage. I like them but here in the north a FWD is a better overall car for winter than a RWD sedan. That would be my mindset with a kid atleast. Not sure if there is snow in "Pdale". Good luck finding a car and congratulations on the kid.

as the owner of a swapped GC, you do NOT want one of them if you want to be comfortable and roomy, their trunk space is a joke and they aren't very comfortable.

and yes the other car on my list was the wrx wagon but i felt being turbo i would have more problems with it.

the accords and camry might be hot tickets with theft?
besides,.... down the road you can say "i owned a gs300/is300/q45" or whatever... compared to "yah im one of the millons of family guys who sold out to owning a borring accord/camry" etc lmao

hyper ya the accord ect just bore me to death i sill have to somewhat like the car.
