Meeting people, unless they're idiots.

Cars are cool, but I don't go to "meets" for them to be car shows. :D

cars are usually secondary. i like meeting people. especially when they're forum folk so i can finally put a face and a name together. i've been fortunate in meeting a lot of great ppl through this site.

i go to look at the cars, and if people are around the cars im looking at i speak. if there cool ill hang out with them for a lil while, crack some jokes and all that. thats how i like to meet people. i hate to approach some one just to find out there a dick head. so i really dont go to meets just to meet people, but i do like to though. well i guess it goes both ways.

its definitely to meet people (there are sooo many advantages to making friends in the auto industry, lol)...


but I'd also have to admit, I sometimes do like seeing the ricers/action/drama (this was at an all make/model type of meet)... which is probably why those Monday meets in Artesia were so popular. haha... if you live in Socal, you know what I'm talking about. Don't deny you liked going haha

if it's our weekly sunday night lake meet i go for the people, but a big meet like a BBQ or nissan meet or somthing I like to check out cars and setups of others.

Id rather see the car first then meet the owner due to the fact that at ceartin meets all I here is a bunch of JACKASSES who think they are the shit and know everything !!! (Yeah I got this and this and this and i um um yeah shut the fuk up) !!!!!

at the local saturday night meet i usually just go to hang out with friends, i avoid talking to the people i dont know, because they all seem to be big dummies

Used to go to the 626 friday night meet like 45 mins drive there every friday for like two years.

Then stupid people showed up and I just stopped going.

I go there to hang out with the people.

I could care less about the cars.

Exactly, its like when I go up to a car first thing the owner talks about are his mods, when I don't even ask. I just tune it out though and admire or observe.

Yea - there's a lot of "look how big my penis is via my car" people. At least there are a lot of secure people as well.

I have always enjoyed meeting the people/artists behind the work. And when I come across a nicely done vehical that is owned by a very respectable Individual, it makes it all the more "zen" for me:D. I have made many long term friendships over the years from attending "Car Meets", Cruze-ins Ect. GOOD PEOPLE, GOOD TIMES!!:rawk:

Anyhow, people are always who I want to talk to, mostly to go "wtf were you smoking?" other times just to complement. I enjoy all kinds of cars.

i usually go to meets to meet people. it's just nice to meet people who share the same passion. if i want to look at cars, i can check the numerous build/picture threads here on zilvia. besides, one can always learn from another. like here in germany, we have some people who are good with suspension, others are good with engines and tuning and so forth.

But seriously. Some times, (a lot of times) I see a group of people show up to a meet and just sit on their hoods. Like they are posing or something waiting for someone to come up to them and as about their cars. lol. I hate that.

I don't like most people that are into cars around here... so I go for the cars. I'm not an elitist, but most guys are frigin liars and idiots when it comes to cars, and I am neither so it's frustrating.

all the meets i go to are full of hondas and eclipses. so i usually just sit there wit hmy hood down until some one asks and i only tell them the answer to what they ask. i havent hit up a meet since i got paint i am sure it will draw alot mor attention then my primers sil80. even thought i was the only 240. i am all ways up to meet new people and that is the main reason i do the meets. and even when iam just walking around i flag people over to talk to them.

i go to make new friends/connections networking is always good.

It's nice to be around people who enjoy the same hobby, and I also like to look at nice cars, but at the same time I'm always kind of on my toes watching my car because I really dislike when people touch it or smoke really close to it, or want to lean/sit on it haha. Also, I kind of dislike when people tell me what I should do with my car. There are always some self-proclaimed 240 gurus who act like they're better than you and think that every 240 is supposed to be a race car, and I'm always told about my bad suspension geometry, some can't grasp that I know all that but honestly I just don't care. I just nod my head and wait for them to go talk to someone else.
