SR20DET Revving to 5k and sometimes..
 

First off thanks for checking out this thread .
My S13 Coupe has a blacktop sr20det that has been running with no issues for the past two months since the swap has been done . Well the other night I was drove abot a 1/4 mile from my house and then when I applied the clutch the engine revved to 5000rpms so I turned around and went home . The engine will rev to 5000 by itself and when in gear it will continue to accelerate trying to rev higher without my foot on the accelerator . Checked intercooler piping and throttle cables but want to know if anyone has ran into a similar issue ?

Sounds like something is getting stuck. Does it rev with the throttle body cable disconnected.

Check / lubricate the throttle cable Make sure its not getting stuck. It happened to my brothers miata on the highway lol. Does it stop at 5k or keep revving?
