value my 240 (low miles)

Hi, I drive a 91 240sx fastback. with 19,000 miles on the car. It has all original parts except the stereo deck. 2 owners besides myself (both guys that were 50+ years old.) Unfortunately I am thinking about selling the car. With such low miles I don't want to modify it really. I love the car but the ka24de is very slow.

So I am here to ask you guys how much do you think it is worth?

Don't sell! Consider this a gift from God. It is only going to increase in value due to every 18yo kid with a hoonigan fitted cap wanting a drift missile. The car will only increase in value the longer you have it. But if you do sell it sell it to me please!

Stock 240s are a rare find not to mention how pristine your car is.

Again there are alot of variables to that.
1. Who was the seller. (Did they know popular the car is.)
2. What state and condition was it in.

The list can go on. Hatchtastic got the deal everybody dreams about. But I know for a fact that 240s in good stock form are valued high about kbb prices.

I live in az, bought the car from a guy that took it as partial trade from its 2nd owner for a 69 camero, the only negative to the car is that it had been repainted and it was a shot as job. Original az car as well, it never left the state according to car fax

Psmirker 04-04-2016 02:21 PM

I bought my s13 in the same condition as yours. Only difference was mine had 160k on the clock. The guy selling it wanted a really quick sell so I got it for 2900, but he could've sold it for about 2k more than his asking price

CaliforniaMayhem 04-05-2016 11:56 AM

I live in CA. I got my 240sx hatch with 68k original miles two years ago for $4,000.
Yours is super clean but you need to find the right buyer....shouldn't be hard.

CrimsonRockett asked this same question on a thread but I couldn't find it.

What is going on with the lower body line of the driver's rear quarter panel? Seems to be missing.

*edit* /driver's

I would say HOLD on to it if you can. I will only go up in value. If ya can park it in a garage and only drive on the weekend or special ocassions. If you have to sell I wouldnt take anything less than $4500 maybe more...

Kingtal0n 04-10-2016 10:08 AM

Its nice to have a low miles 240sx but what more can you do with it than look at it? Whats it good for besides storage / show?

You can't drive it or modify it because that will ruin the value. It doesn't get good economy so you wouldn't even want to drive it. Modification wise, you are better off modifying a cheapy S14 chassis because they will be worth more (modified) in the long run. Its kind of a like an $800 stock that somebody purchased, that they sold for extra after it gained some value to somebody else, and now the stock is worth $800 + $XXXX to that person, who tries to sell it for even more to the next person... etc and in the mean time it just sits from storage to storage. In ten more years even with the same mileage it will be up for a restoration project, replace all the rubbers/engine/trans/diff and seals and update the suspension etc... otherwise its just an antique behind glass that rotted away without being used "for historical purposes".

IMO call Nissan and ask them if they want to buy it to display for 5k.

Just make it faster and enjoy a car in good condition. It's not going to ever be "valuable" so no point in worrying about that.

Croustibat 04-13-2016 04:55 AM

3 owners, 19k miles ?

I hope you have quite the receipts list to prove it has been maintained AND has that mileage.

Not true. I know people would pay a premium for a perfect condition 240sx.

What do you consider a premium? $5-6k?
It's never going to worth any real money. Get that out of your head. A mint low mileage ( under 20k ) un touched 98 240 may bring some good money years from now. But not this car.

zombiewolf513 04-13-2016 08:41 AM

If you really want to sell it PM me, ill make you a solid offer

SoundEfx 04-13-2016 09:18 AM

I envy you sir.

Very nice idea in my opinion !
Make it faster and enjoy it!

It ain't really going to be worth 30-50k like any American muscle classics.
EVER!

I'll give you $6000 cash for it so I can put it in my garage and love it just how it is. I'll come up from AZ this week to get it.

If that doesn't do it for you, hit me up and I'd love to work out a trade/cash deal for a stock black one that's not in AS good of shape body wise (paint fade and dings) but a better candidate for a project. I'll even help you with the work to swap the motors, done it 10ish times.

For real, don't swap an SR into that unicorn. Just enjoy it as is.

Frank_Jaeger 05-20-2016 08:50 AM

He's bluffing, he won't actually do it. He was just flushing out the buyers.

And hiking up the price by making the true buyers want to preserve it even more.
Brilliant plan.

Getchevyn 05-18-2019 02:01 PM

Is it still available?
