3rd brake light trouble in 93 hatch
 

My 3rd brake light is on while I'm driving but goes out when I hit the brakes,also when I hit the brakes my rear defrost switch light comes on.does anyone have an idea what it could be? Thanks for any help

anyone?this is super old.

Open the hatch, in the top right corner there are a cluster of wires loomed up that contain the 3rd brake light, defroster, etc. Most likely there is a short somewhere in that area.

What if I take the defrost switch out and unplug all the hatch wiring?cause I don't really need the defrost or the 3rd brake light anymore..it wouldn't cause any shorts anywhere because of it or anything would it?

sounds like youve got a bad ground somewhere. happened to me rewiring my tail lights.
