i think he was well within his rights, even though it was just a jaywalking thing, things escalated. first girl resisted arrest and second girl tried to physically stop/assault him and used necessary force to deal with the situation.

yeah I agree, girl had it coming , actually anybody has it coming when they put hands on a cop.

I think this is no big deal and media is blowing it out of proportion. Its not as bad as the cop mistakenly blasting someone.

This is kind of older news now, but I also think he did the best thing he could. Not the RIGHT thing, I love women, but in his scenario wouldn't most of us average people do the same thing? I'm sure he could have used mace or perhaps a taser if he has one but in the situation, being attacked and being the only officer there, ya punch her.

Thing is, for all he knew, he was just getting attacked, so a punch was I'm sure first instinct.

We need to give cops the authority to beat the shit out of people. I am Russian, in my country cops are allowed to just whipe the floors with people, and after that you think they would do it again? The cop shows great restrain handling both of them bitches. The impulsive side of me would've beaten both of their asses.

Agreed, also if you watch the entire clip from when he initially confronts them, he handles himself very well. It's when he tries to restrain her that everyone decides to turn their camera phones and makes it look like the cop was in the wrong. "Oh noez! another cop abusing innocent people vid!"

That situation could have gone a LOT worse. All things considered, I'd say he handled it very well.

once it gets to the point of resisting arrest.... if im not mistaken.... you are allowed to use the necessary force to place the person under arrest depending on the situation the officer is in..

in this situation the officer used necessary force to subdue the person.... now if she would have been handcuffed...then punched... that would be a different story completely

This isn't one of those unwarranted attacks by a police officer. It was 100% justified.

Now, as said above, if she was in hand cuffs THEN he punched her in the face, that would have been completely wrong.

She got what was coming, not trying to judge but those girls the way they were acting were just ghetto. There is always 2 sides to every story. But from what i saw i side with the police. Many people bash them but who do you always call when your in trouble... the police. People need to have more respect for what these fine men and woman do everyday for us. my 2 cents.

Why dont you watch the video first? Plain and simple, you start resisting arrest and laying your hands on a cop...you will get FUCKED UP. Its not a fucking hard concept is it? Why dont you go to a cop and put your hands on him and see what happens.

In this case I will agree that the girls were in the wrong. But in regards to the police.....don't trust em, don't like em and I do anything to avoid interaction with em. But when you gotta deal with em it's "no sir" or "no ma'am" and etc. It isn't worth ending up beaten on the road side or worse.

if i remember right, cuz this is old news, that it happened on Martin Luther King BLVD near downtown seattle. ive been to that area, twice in the last 15 years, and simply said, theres a reason for that. never touch a cop, never resist arrest. take the ticket and move on, fight it in court, whatever. its funny cuz, as bad as that ENTIRE street is in seattle, he was looking out for her safety. bitch coulda got hit and died. instead, she got a punch to the FACE!!! in the end, i think he should have mased her tho instead of sockin her one. oh well. u know the bitch is filing a lawsuit, and i hope she DOESNT win.
