coilover spring gets caught (pix)
 

So the top part of the spring gets caught i just pulled the spring out a bit and it popped back in place. I wanna know what to do to prevent this from happening was not driving it too hard maby due to a bumpy surface tho.

is it popping out when its sitting or just when you lift it up? :loco:

try tightening up the preload adjustment. if it doesn't have preload adjustment then you'll have to raise the car?

You are either going to need to give the spring more pre-load or purchase helper/asist springs to provide the pre-load when the suspenion unloads.

when your suspension unloads, helper springs will keep your coilover springs seated in the upper spring perches, yet will compress under the weight of the car when it's level. You should get another perch to fit in between the helper and main spring though.

do what everyone else suggested, or buy legit suspension.

very cool thanks alot im glad helper springs are not too expensive but ill be sure to get some next pay check.

dont bother with the helper spring...your springs preload is off

jack your car up...take the wheel off...tighten your dampers lower perches up til the spring is FIRMLY against the top mount...tighten your BOTTOM PERCH (not the one directly below the spring) using a screw driver and hammer...tap it into place until snug...put the wheel back on and you should be good to go

what are the name of those coilovers?

either of the suggested solutions will fix your issue.

however, by raising the bottom collar until the spring is captive you will be raising the car.

if you don't want to do that and your coilovers are single height adjustable, you must use helper springs.

if they are dual you can reset height with the adjustable shock body.

whatever you do, don't forget to get an alignment afterwards.
