I bought a 93 Coupe with a bad motor about a year ago and swapped in an SR. Anyhow, I'm disassembling the KA to see what went wrong. Externally it looked fine -- until I pulled off the AC bracket:

Now I see why it wouldn't turn over. Ouch.

Since the damage happened under the AC bracket, the chunks of the block were still present. Pretty cool! Maybe it can be JB welded back together? :)
