Ka24de oil return question w/ pics
 

I was wondering if this is a sufficient place to put the oil return for keeping the a/c on a ka

Obviously I'll have to take the lip of the oil pan up but I figure as long as I don't take material off of the surface I won't have any sealing problems right? http://i1277.photobucket.com/albums/...psdir99ilq.jpg

Now I see that there is some kind of tray inside the oil pan and the bracket is stuck right where the hole would need to be drilled so would taking that extra material off cause problems?

I just really only wanna do this once and do it right so I'm asking for your guy's advice.

Imagine you are trying to return a frothy foamy whipped up oil to the pan. Any object which can affect this is in question. I suggest you look at some other turbocharger return designs; you may see that the area immediate to the fitting is often shrouded, or cached from view, or secluded to put it another way, from the rest of the engine's insides. For example if the returning oil comes within a few millimeters of a spinning crankshaft, that is a good example of a problem waiting to happen; the crankshafts own whipping/spinning action might create a foamed up blockage that leads to a restricted oil return line- which leads to blowing out the seals on the turbo. Your main goal, then, is to reduce the action of this whipping/flurry/foaming going on, and always returning the oil to above the level of oil in the pan, away from any moving parts.


That said, it looks like its a bit too late to ask for advice; I perceive you have already drilled a hole.

I see so you think further to the left I just want to clear the a/c compressor and like I said do it the right way.

No I haven't drilled a hole yet I'm scared to do so I'm thinking of taking it to a fab shop so they can do that.

I have mine welded closer to the front, and it clears the A/C stuff.

Yours should be okay, but I'm not sure if the crossmember or steering rack would get in the way.
