i think you should define wealth, since you're the one who knows what wealth is.

its not just how much money you have its how much stuff you have liquid assets and all that stuff

you could have a "wealth" of knowledge. just because you have "stuff" doesnt mean youre wealthy.

No one is starving here. No one is without the basics.

Our needs are overwhelmingly met to the point that all we have left are wants.

That's why we're on a forum dedicated to a very expensive hobby (even if you factor in cheap Chinese knockoffs) where people pour a ton of disposable income into something that will sell for a fraction of the price later on.

Wealth is the point at which needs are immaterial and wants are nearly universally covered.

The point at which I consider a person to be wealthy typically starts at the $30 million mark and goes up from there.

I think it would be shitty to be financially wealthy. If you could do or buy whatever you wanted then it would take the fun out of dreaming about one day owning this or that.

I've met a lot of truly wealthy dudes who live bitchin' lives going places and doing things we just can't afford.

Being surrounded by real friends, and the ability to buy things you want or need without ever having to worry about being able to afford it.

Money doesn't buy happiness but it buys things that can make you happy and provide life experiences and enrich yourself and others.

I believe life experiences are things that truly make you "wealthy."

Nope, lol. I just put it up to give some perspective. For me, living in America, and talking about finances, it would have to be at the point that bills and paying for other things no longer cause me stress.

I guess it was more geared tword working to acquire it. It makes it that much better when you do get it. Or at least thats how I see it.

To me, wealth is not having the stress or worry to get by week to week, or even day to day.

For example, my main financial goal in life, is to be able to afford MORE time to not be at work.

Of course I would probably spend more money on a car or material items. But being into cars more would allow me to go to more events, whether it be a local meet, or a track event, or even just meeting with a few close car buddies for lunch/dinner.

I am closer than ever to replacing my 9-5 job with the making my own money.(I have been investing in various markets for years)

Basically, wealth to me is being able to do more of what you WANT to do, rather than doing what you HAVE to do. Now that's not saying I just walk around and do whatever I want, whenever I want. But I think you get the idea

This how I look at it:

Wealth = a combination of:
1. Lack of exposure (debt + overhead)
2. Cash flow
3. Cash reserves + value of all your property



Get #1 right first, you'll be safe
Get #1 and #2 down and you're getting somewhere
Get all 3 together and you begin to build wealth.

Knowledge in my world is often worth more then money. Knowledge gets money, and bypasses the need for money.

You boys and girls want to know what wealth it? Wealth should simply be define by the power a person holds. Who are the top 1%? The most powerful and richest people in the world. It's about power.
