New Servers
 

Meant to post this a few days ago, but we upgraded our servers a few days ago and have been dealing with a few outages while we tweaked out the kinks. I think were stable now, so hopefully you enjoy the faster setup!

I wanted to know everyone thoughts about upgrading to vBulletin 4.x? 3.x is end of life by a long shot, but were in for a major look and feel change if we upgrade to 4.x. We could use the theme from Toyobaru.net for Zilvia since its somewhat similar in layout. We could tweak the colors too. See attached pictures for reference.

Also, I just fixed an attachment issue.

I don't like change.

Having done the upgrade on another forum, and been through a couple on forums I frequent, my 2 cents is to leave it at version 3.x.

I'm down for the change...

If it ain't broke, don't fix it. Just bring back the rep system...

Hooray for new servers!
It would be refreshing to see a new style of Zilvia, but I'm worried we'd lose users who didn't care to re-learn the layout.

I think it's well overdue lets do it!

I haven't been able to use my Quick Links for the past week. I don't know if I'm the only one but its pretty annoying. Could that have anything to do with the new servers?

if they aren't smart enough to figure it out, did you really "lose" anything?

I'll have time to build a test server next week and run the upgrade on a copy of zilvia. I'll have something up for everyone to see and test. Once the theme is hashed out we can take a vote.

would 4.x offer better anti-spammer anti-bot measures? :/

See that list at the bottom of the screen showing users active...yea that’s us. Snoop around on the forum a little before asking where we are. Not all of us like to expose our social media personal accounts to random strangers. Zilvia is alive and well...

In regards to the OP and with the recent downage of the forum, do you think it's time to actually update the forum from vBulletin v3?

It seems like outages are now a normal occurrence. Sometimes lasting days at a time. Is there any progress happening to remedy this?
