what is the best boost controller ?
 

im looking for boost controller, some thing simple to use, what do you guy think?

Whats your preference? Manual or electronic?

none of the electronic boost controllers are "simple" to use and they can get quite expensive. They all have a learning curve to them but in the end they are best.

manual boost controllers are easy and cheap. just install and turn the adjusting knob a few clicks. but my opinion on these is that they are un-trustworthy. other people might say different though.

i use a Joe P manual controller. i like the simplicty and reliability of a good manual controler over an electric.

joe p makes a few different versions.

Boost control kit for a PFC are simple enough.. :ddog:

I like manual one but witch one have click, the electric some is confusing but I know some out there is simple to use can you guy give the brand and model so I can do more research on them thanks.

electronic all the way, wont ever go to a mbc after having a ebc

Witch ebc do you have that make you don't want to go to mbc

I have around $300 to spend that's my budget

im going to try the aem tru boost. its under 300 seems simple (only two buttons) and its made by aem. i have a hallman mbc that i picked up for 60 and has lasted 4 years with no problems. but the ease of being able to change the boost level on the fly is the only thing that is wanting me go ebc.

i've had no problems with APEX-i AVC-R on my old KA-T. never had a problem. my friend runs it on his NEON SRT4, i think it's the most common.

AVC-R for the win.....picked mine up used and in perfect shape for only $250.....I got VERY lucky.

Slighlty nontrivial to use, but if you need help, just ask or search the internet

Hallman Pro... really simple to use only $100 bucks and if the supra guys trust them so do i... i was gonna purchase one but now im running a aem tru boost my friend surprised me with

They're good if you have a PFC w/ commander and you want an EBC without the extra controller to stick somewhere in the car.

But personally, best EBC is an AVC-R...you got more options to play with. But with more options, its also alot more complicated.

I've had an AVC-R in the states, had a Blitz DSBC, had too much crap and gauges in the car so took the DSBC out for a PFC kit. 2 yrs later, my PFC started hating my control kit so I'm now back to a DSBC.

i have a profec b spec II but i honestly dont know what im doing with it... too many options. someone needs to come out with a controller that you set how many psi you want and it gives you that much boost

Are as easy as a MBC, yet electronic. THey work great. SImple gain knob, 2 boost settings.



For a 300 dollar budget, any of the 'better' EBC's will do fine.

I have a Tru-Boost on the way, I've used them in the past and never had an issue with it. Pretty simple to figure out and fits nicely in the car (sometimes hard to mount otherr controllers). They go for around $250 new, so that's within your budget. Honestly if you stick with the major companies you shouldn't have any problem. You'll have plenty of support/help from the online communities if you have questions and they seem to all be pretty good quality.

I'd stay away from the "ebay" cheap-o manual controllers. Heard a good amount of horror stories about them. Be baller and get an EBC, chicks did random flashing numbers!

profec b spec II is a GREAT boost controller, just make sure you search for the instructions and how to set it properly. or just take it somewhere who has experience with the unit. btw, i believe i have seen a couple for sub $300 in the fs section.

ive got the avc-r. great controller. did alot of researce before i bought it, it was the only one i really didnt read any negatives. not to mention the functions. it is a tad complicated at first but once you get the hang of it, its great.

AEM boost controller,it has controller and guage all in one.I haven't had a tough time setting it up either

Blitz dual sbc ftw!!!! ill never ever change that. easy to use/set. 4 different lines for 4 different settings. i only use 3. 1:street-9psi 2:drift-14psi 3:drag-18psi....all with simple push then turn of a knob
