That is fucking rad! I've thought about doing something like this with every thrashed shell I've disposed of over the years. This failure example fails itself...

While the subject of this photo is definitely fail, the car itself was rad as fuck. That's SCC magazine's "project S13" that Dave Coleman built in the late 90's-early 2000's. I'll leave it to Mr. Coleman to explain it the best:

That is THE car that brought the SR swap to the "mainstream". That is THE car that pioneered the flat black look, and one of the VERY FEW that actually pulled it off as well.

That car with the funky floral pattern on the roof that Bushido posted, isnt that from the seafoam s13 coupe that has those crazy rear fenders? Those rear fenders make me laugh every time.

That purple 240 truck thing kills me inside. That girl who used to own it let her man take a sawzilla to the rear of her hatch. Then just left it all hacked up for a "few weeks". Then after a few weeks of ridicule about how unsafe it was they decided to "let an expert weld it", which was her Man, and his first time ever welding. At that point the shell was already tweeked as they did nothing to support the frame before "cutting" (see hacking). Then about 2 months later got tired of it raining in her car every day and had her man weld in a piece of metal where the rear window went........ She told everyone she didn't need a rear window, she could just pull through everywhere.

Last I heard someone still had that thing. It is scary to think it is even on a public road.

This is essentially just like the car g35baby is talking about. The roof was torn off when it was slid into a tractor years ago. It is cut apart, just like the above car, and now has a "tube chassis" with chicken shit welds and crappy metal. The thing needs to be push started everywhere. Definition of doing it wrong.

I also saw an S13 hatch with metal welded in place of the passenger side quarter window. Totally retarded.

This guy Lee bought it. Put a big turbo rb26 in it, and cleaned it up a lot. he's driven a lot of OSW events.
