Best mounting positions for Harness

Does anyone have pics of their setup?

On a roll cage bar thats parallel to the height of your shoulders. Mount it on the floor or anywhere low and you could potentially break your back when it pulls you down instead of holding you back.

OK. This is what I thought. Now why is there a site that sells racing seats showing a picture that shows a harness buckled into the rear seat belts as ok? That's not, right?

45% to what?

You need a bar shoulder height behind the seat to support the harness or it can pull down on your back.

Anyways, I dont understand why people wants freaking harnesses. If it serves no purpose, why do it? Do you really need a fucking harness for your daily driver on stock seats? Hate to say it, alot of folks run harnesses because its "JDM" and doesnt understand how it works.

fliprazyin is right. Do not mount it on the floor.

You want the harness above your shoulders, look at how high the OE position is. It is mounted on the floor, but it goes through the harness above your shoulder.

I think he ment to say as long as the belts slope down at no less than a 45 degree angle than you will be alright. I've seen many mounted like this in street cars with full interior and such, but never seen it this way in a race car. I would just get a harness bar or cage and mount them at your shoulder height like others have suggested. You can never be too cautious, never know what could happen.

Worthless without a cage. Can be more deadly then a factory 3 point in a crash without a cross bar behind your shoulders. Break your neck in a roll over without a cage.

Most show cars are just for show. You'll notice that they retain the stock belts.
