"screeching" noise heard when I turn left or right
 

I drive a 91' 240sx automatic tranny and was wondering if anyone could help figure out why I hear a screeching noise when I turn sharply left or right. It does not happen when I drive straight, although sometimes when I accelerate fast I hear it again, any advice would be appreciated.

Get a new power steering belt, or just tighten the old one. Also try and wax the belt.

anyways if it sounds like you are mutilating a cat under the hood even when u are going slow, suspect the PS. Check fluid levels first, then look to see if/where it has leaked
