hey if you have mIRC or any other irc client stop by in #zilvia on irc.dal.net i know people have tried this before, i've been in this channel for a few months and just this morning received ownership because previouis owner failed to maintain it... but i'm always in this channel, and always will be so stop on by

get mIRC

type /server irc.dal.net 6667
type /join #zilvia

i know that this has been tried before, but maybe it will work and help zilvia (atleast some members) develop a sense of community?

Can't connect to that server. =/ Timeout x infinite.
Anyone else having problems?

Edit: Got it to work, that server address just didn't work for me. Here's a list of addresses to try: DALnet server list

Now the only problem is that I'm the only one in the channel. =/

currently about 8 people in the channel this is great people! join our little community on irc.dal.net choose a nickname similar to your zilvia forum name so we can identify you. check it out!

it was fun last night, and its great for setting up meets, i'd imagine.

How do I get there? I'll get on after work at around 11pm central.

get the MIRC client (or another client) create a nickname, and then connect to any dalnet server (mIRC should give you a list of servers).

after you connect, it will give you a dialog box where you can choose your channel, just type in "#zilvia" (without quotes). Dont try looking for it in the dropdown menu, its not there.

OR, you can close that box, and just type "/join #zilvia" in the main window.
(you'll see a bunch of "ident" stuff and "hostname found")

thats called idling, some people can't be at their computers all the time. people are usually up later at night and stuff, we're trying to buidl up the channel so people will constantly have somone to talk to.

and EFNET is a bad server because they do not allow you to register a nickname or channel. and its full of spam
