quick question
 

a friend of mine just bought a s13, problem is one of the hoses is busted and we think it a heater hose but I figured I'd ask zilvia.

that looks like the hose that connects from the intake manifold to the brake booster. 1 of 2 hoses. if its cracked it can cause idle problems and afr problems.

i retract my statement, i believe you're correct with it being the heater hose. It carries coolant through the heater core on the other side of the firewall. shouldn't be tough to resplace. good luck

Any idea of where the hose could get picked up, or if that hose was on any usdm cars?

i suppose you could just go to your local kragen/ krack zone and get a similar looking hose and bend it to suit your situation.
