Super Hicas Pump Line(s) - Which banjo to plug.
Hey guys,
Which one can block off to use on my non-hicas car. (3) goes to the reservoir. Would I plug up (1) and run the banjo on (2)? http://i215.photobucket.com/albums/c.../hicaspump.jpg |
#2. But you have to dissasemble the pump and remove the metal slides from the rear section first. It is very easy don't worry!
What he said, don't forget the "disassemble the pump and remove the metal slides" part!
Thanks guys. I'll pretend I know what metal slides you guys are talking about. I'll open it up and have a look for myself. Thank you again.

Ran #1. Plugged up #2. Removed the sliding metal plates in rear portion. No leaks. Filled up with ps fluid and it sucked it right up. I'm not getting any power steering. I know my pump worked when I removed it. What could be the problem here? Any ideas?

That's exactly what I did with my hicas pump and it works fine? Are you sure it's all bled and full?
Bled? I lifted the car up and filled it as I fully turned the wheel. Back and forth. I've been driving around for like 10 minutes also. I'll try again tomorrow and lift it to turn again. It also has remained full.
Went and just did it again. Its actually better but not as good as I had hope. The fluids didn't go down much. I can see the top of it in the reservoir. Should I keep doing this or will I have to flush out the system and re-bleed again for better results?
Idk it shouldn't take but a minute or two to fill the system. Hopefully there isn't something blocking one of your lines...
Hmm. Thank you so much bro for your inputs. There actually could be a potential minor kink restricting the flow. I looped the banjo line into an upside down J to fit it onto the pump. Its the orignial single came ps line. I'll have to check to see if that may be an issue for flow. Thanks again.

Bumping this to inform people that some HICAS pumps do not have dual vanes. There are smaller HICAS pumps with two high pressure ports that share the same wheel. If you take out the vanes on these pumps, you'll lose your PS.
