im trying to get the dash out... everything is unscrewed and taken care of EXCEPT the vents on the top left and top right side. they're the ones that are mounted on the dash with screws and a little metal bracket, but im trying to figure out how to take the hose out. it looks like it can be removed? do i have to take the screws out?

as far as I know, they just unplug from the holes.. if they don't, try to twist them a bit and then pull them out.. but it shouldn't be that big of a deal though.

Yeah the hoses going to the vent should come off (think vacuum cleaner hose connections!)... Grab the hose just to the right of the red arrow you drew and pull to the right, the hose should come right off. I didn't need to take off that bracket when I took off my dash. For the one on the passenger side, I think you can reach up there to unhook the hose from the glove box hole (remove the box door if you haven't already). Removing/installing the dash can be a pain! GL and try not to crack it putting it back in ;)

when I'm working under my dash I put my passenger seat all the way back and that leaves me excatally enugh room to lay flat on the floor under the dash. My cars a bit different than most though. The dash comes out with 2 zip ties and thats it. quite convienent.

Those hoses -- they pull apart. You don't get much "wiggle" room since they're zip-tied down.

That vent you showed -- leave it there, does not keep the dash from being removed.

I used Richard's site when I removed my dash, can't get any more complete than that.

Good luck!

That's a pretty good site. It's worth noting that in step #54 when you remove the defroster vent grills, be extremely careful because 99% of the time these will break. They're very hard to find, and my local dealer as well as mynismo.com both told me these parts have been discontinued.
