ok, purists can flame me for being concerned about this, but as much as it seems like a capable car for grip/drift/drag/whatever... it seems under-engineered and UGLY to me.

they are quick with a supercharger in them. but i would have to agree that it is too bulbus to look good. i have no idea, it they make some cladding to make it's lines a little more 350Z and a lot less Jaguar it would look better.

How do you expect of a car that was designed almost 10 years ago to look (the concept was debuted in 1998)? Like crap! If GM redisigns it will sell twice as many. Period.

I actually really like how the GTO looks, and you can't really go wrong with a 6 speed LS2

Hahaha, I was laughing my ass off when they talked about the driver listening to Genesis!

The car doesn't look bad for a 10 year old car though. IF IT CAME HEAR 10 years ago it would be fine. But it didn't. So it looks extremely dated. And was a mistake on GM's part.

well, theyre coming out with the next one soon to satisfy you damn americans...aussies seemed content for the last 10 years...
cheap as hell, 400hp, rwd, a non GM interior, decent looks, easy as hell to break loose (got yelled at the auto n motion every run teehee)...i have drove the LS1 and the LS2...i think its a huge improvement in itself...plus GM tried to make sutble revisions such as the dual exhaust and hood scoop...in my book, its one helluva car...

i need to drive one, but from look overs and watching at races they do seem pretty decent.

I also like the looks. Too bad GM isn't making a more performance oriented one like the VXR for the GTO

word....
im not too fond of the GM styling, but a Holden Monaro conversion looks sweet imo.....and yea 400hp, 400ft lb torque, 6 speed, handles extremely well for a 3700lb car, for $30k is quite a bargain...
Power is nice, interior and exterior styling sucks. I don't know about that car actually handling very well. They mainly talk about burning tires - that's a big no-no when you want to go fast.
Now the Corvette Z06.. that's a nice American car.

that thing had some serious body roll. But over all i like it. Just wish it didnt weigh 3800 pounds.

That monaro is a wonderful car. The gto seems like they undid some of it when they brought it stateside. seems like a fun sedan, though
