I recently decided to fix a small leak from the oil pump which has now turned itself into a larger problem. I removed the oil pump and replaced the gasket(no harm done.) Well since then the car won't start and it has to be an electrical issue. Of course the car turns over as well as fuel is delivered. I have checked the timing over and over, and have come to the conclution there is no spark. I have checked the plugs, and nothing, as well as the coil, and am still not seeing anything. I did just a basic test on the coil by leaning the plug up to a screw driver tilted slightly away from the fender. (This is the way I searched to test it online, so if there is a better way I would like to know)
Question 1: Any ideas why this would have happened from just removing the oil pump?
Question 2: Should the next step be to replace the coil or is there something I am missing?
Thanks!
