I recently bought a used C's short shifter, when I recieved it I noticed it was 2 pieces like the OBX.
The problem is that the bottom part isn't threaded, like the OBX, so you can't screw the top half on..it just slides over it.
There's no way its gonna stay together like this so I'm trying to find out what works to hold the pieces together? Threadlocker? JBWeld? Elmers Glue?

Yeah...I attached a pic I found. Mine is exactly the same is the "registration series" model.
The top half is completely seperated from the bottom half on mine, I guess the glue holding the two halves together completely wore off.
I can slide the top half back onto the bottom but it probly wont' stay together when shifting and will just spin when I try to put the shift knob on or off.

My C's is like OEM, except it has a BOX shaped clamp holding the shifter onto the transmission.

Mine did that...go to WalMart and buy this glue called "The Welder"...worked for me for ~2-2.5 years before I sold it...and as far as I know, it's working great in the car it's in now.

Got mine new in a box a few years ago (don't know the series though). It attaches to the tranny by two moon shaped metal pieces under the shifter held together by four hex bolts (two on each crescent).

I bought a brand new one a few years back and also had a used one. I never remembered a detachable piece. Any kind of JB weld type stuff should do the trick.

jb weld of the win. Sand the end its its smooth just to give the weld something to adhere 2.

mine mounts the same way. top threads onto the bottom though... worked like a charm, but the snap rings (i think thats what is doing it) rattle like a bitch in 3rd and 5th gear. I need to ass some thick ass grease :)

If I remember correctly, thats pretty much the same thing as my Tomei shifter.

i used to have an OBX shifter and it was a shitty design. b&m is 1,000,000 times better imo. when i had the OBX that little plastic nub at the end that goes into the tranny broke and i had soooo much play in my shifter. everygear had the same right/left movement as being in nuetral. but since i've had the b&m the solid shifting brings a smile to my face everytime :D
what is the difference between c's and OBX? they look the exact same, do they use different materials or something?

The difference is that the OBX is a copy of the C's

Do you really want to use JB weld? What if you need to take the center counsole out again? I would just go with and aftermarker shifter that has the 3 screws to clamp it down.
