I hope someone here may be of some help to me.
Currently I have a RHD s13 with an s14 KA in it. In the next couple weeks, I plan on dropping my built KA into it, but would like to redo the wiring.
The wiring in the car works...and I dont know if I really want to fix what is not broken, but the thing about it is that someone else did it, and I have no clue what exactly they did. It was done well, but in the future if I need to diagnose a problem, I wont really have a leg to stand on.
Questions:
The main body harness. Can i pretty much just flip this harness, and have the ECU on the USDM passenger side, putting the guage wires on the USDM drivers side (RHD Drivers)? I am sure there would be some work required to get everything else working, but for hte most part will this work, or is it unheard of?
With the body harness flipped, I am pretty confident that I would flip my engine room harness aswell, as most of the things in the bay I know can be routed without a problem, only real stretches would be wiper motor.
If anyone could shed some light on this, or offer any experience or opinions, It would be greatly appreciated.
On another note, is soldering a must when dealing with harnesses? I have always tried to stay away from butt connectors, but my soldering experience is pretty minimal, and I dont know if I could do larger wires. I would ideally like to use insulated quick connect plugs, but like buttconnectors, I dont want to lose signal through poor connections. Any thoughts on this?
Thanks Again
