hp from turbo....that is the baine of my life...i hate hearing that....ther eis no set hp becuase u get differnt from differnt psi...no real average 2.....

there r a few kits i know of the xs kit...also rev-hard makes a manifold for the ka24....revhard makes veryg ood quality manifolds and if u want 2 build a turbo kit urself i would really recogment them....f-max and greddy r also gunna jump into the pool very soon ......even tho the ka24is a n iron block that is super super strong...the internals r woot....if u want to do sum real boosting...a complete bearing upgrade and gasket swtich is needed...also stronger internals...yada yada ydad

Look at www.amazon.com and buy a book called Maximum Boost by Corkey Bell. Do yourself a favor find out how a turbo works and how all the componets function together.

The book is very well written and will at least give you a basic understanding how things work so you can answer your own questions. It's always better to get your own answers instead of getting misinformation. And like how wherezmytofu kinda hinted....the people who do have the right answers are usually tire of retelling it.

The reason why people have reliability problems with turbos is because they have no idea what they are doing. If you know how something works then you know how to take care and maintain it.

f-max has been selling their kit for about two years now.

they are far most the best kit on the market for the 240sx.

Try building your own turbo as well (if you have sufficient knowledge). My friend has a turbo from a Eclipse GSX, wastegate from a 300zx, BOV from an FC RX-7, intercooler from an MR2,etc., etc. All junkyard stuff really, its just a matter of finding the right materials and knowing how the turbo works (and yes, i've heard good things about the book "Maximum Boost" as well, my buddy has it). But hey, if you have the funds, get a turbo kit, this was just a more "budget oriented" look into the world of turbos. Also have some extra money after the turbo kit. There's infinite ways of going about turbos.

i just got mine to start this weekend. i am very happy with the work. it took me about 2(maybe more) months to get it to this point. working on it for about a 1-2 days a week. this time also included the first manifold that i messed up on.

personally i would rather do it again then pay the price for the turbo kits.

here are the parts i'm using.
-t3/t4 new(cheap! almost free, sold other parts that came with it)
- AN-4 fittings/hose($30)
- AN-10 oil return with a weld bung on oil pan (about $60)
- oil "tee" fittings($8)
-delta gate($145 used) changed the spring($9; something like that
-greddy type-s bov($125used)
-made own manifold,intercooler pipes,downpipe
(at most about $175; this includes the header flange,t3 flange,t3 discharge flange, 3in 14 gauge exhaust pipe, ubends in 2in,2.5in,3in)
-7mgte intercooler(free)
  misc stuff
- chop saw blades; i used a 14"
-mig flux wire and tig wire, argon gas
-grinding wheel
VERY GOOD EAR PLUGS!!!
that is all i can think of right now.
still waiting on a fuel rail to use DSM 440cc injectors.

JVH22A - How much do you think you've got invested so far? (just curious) Also I've heard the deltagates are prone to sticking open, and causing overboost. Did you know about this? What size spring did you put in it. How much boost are you planning to run?
