Alright guys and gals, put on your thinking caps for this one:
Here is my setup:
1995 240SX SE 5-Speed
Greddy Turbo Kit (turbo, manifold, fuel rail, dumptube, air filter)
Greddy FMIC
HKS SSBOV
Exceddy Stage 2 Clutch
JWT ECU
MSD 72lb Injectors
Cobra MAF
Walbro 255lph Fuel Pump
Z32 Fuel Filter
Megan Racing Downpipe
Testpipe
GP Sports Exas Spec D Exhaust
Here is my problem:
Yesterday after putting on my new exhaust my car was running fine - it idled fine (900-1000rpm), and it drove great when I took it for a test drive. The problem occured when I tried to drive it home from my parents house. As I pulled onto the highway and accelerated, I shifted from 4th to 5th gear and in between shifts the throttle stuck and took the rpms up to redline. Since I had it in neutral, I quickly turned it off and coasted to the side of the road. After messing with the trottle cable, gas pedal, and throttle body, I started it up and it went up to redline again - without me touching the gas pedal - so I shut it off. After sitting there for a while longer checking stuff over and starting it with the same result, the idle finally came down to about 1600rpm's then went up to 2100rpm's and now pulses like that very rhythmicly.
Possible Causes:
These are suggestions I found after searching and asking friends:
-Loose Throttle Cable
-Need to Reset ECU
-Bad Fuel Pump
-Need Fuel Pressure Regulator
-?????????
I would really appreciate any suggestions/help you guys have to offer.
Steve
