right now, i have a friend selling his 91 s13. it has 100k, 5spd, completely stock. the exterior was very well kept and still shines when its washed.

the bad thing about it is the fact that it is the base model and does not have power locks, windows and sunroof, the carpet in the rear had paint spilled in it and the front driver seat has a tear. he is selling it for 1000 dollars.

your opinions are welcomed.

thanks

Don't buy it so I can...

Seriously...thats a good deal. It's hard to find s13's with that low mileage, stock, AND base model. Some people prefer the base models because theyre lighter and less things can break (i.e. power window motors, door lock motors etc). Don't worry about the seat... all s13s have that...

BUY IT

sounds like a good deal to me. you get the ka24de engine and its also lighter since its base model. it has real low mileage you wont need to paint the car anytime soon. real "power" windows are the way to go anyways. you can also replace the things you mentioned for pretty cheap. some even go for free in the classifieds section. i say jump on it. just make sure to maintain it and itll last for awhile...good luck with it if you get it.

Oh man, if it's a coupe its most def worth it. Well it's worth it eigher way. But for some reason here in norcal DOHC coupes are hard to find for sale. Now for that milage and price it's most definately worth it regardless of where you are.

of course you should get it, its soo hard to find a running twin cam 240 for 1k...people sell single cam 240s for more than 1k

Wow, this shouldn't even be a question. Just a statement.

"I found this dope, cheap car, with very little problems. I bought it."

I agree with those guys, people are readily paying 2-3 times that for cars in similar condition.

You're just lucky it's in boston, otherwise most of the california guys (myself included) would have bought it out from under you.:D

these aren't even real negatives.

power locks & windows = more shit that can go wrong.
no sunroof = stiffer roof, one less thing to break.
stained rear carpet? lol. half the guys on this forum would properly rip that rear carpet out the same day they bought the car anyway.
the seat would probably get replaced with s14 seats or a racing seat in short time as well.

go buy it now. your friend could turn that thing around and sell it for 2k or more easily.

I think it all depends on what the avg price for the car is in your area. Most of the ppl that responded to this thread were from Ca and here that price is awsome. But I have seen crazy deals over there on the east coast. Regardless, it sounds liek you should deff jump on it that car. In a few months I bet even on your side the price for a 240 will rise.

This is just unbeleivable. You guys pay absoluly nothing compared to us in Canada. It's hard to find a decent 240sx for less than 5000can / 4200us with more work than you should probably send it to the scrapyard.

Anyway, I had to say this cuz I find this funny.

1000US is just a crazy deal!!!!!!

If we want a rustless car like you we have to pay around 7000$ Can sometimes more..
lol you have to be a rich kid to own a 240sx these days... but it seems like a different world when you walk over the border.

In Europe, a 240sx aka 180sx cost a arm and a leg too..... keep in mind it's a sporty car and rare too...

Well being that I paid $2700 for $110,000, with digital hud, VLSD, and all the electronic power everything, you are getting a pretty good deal. I have a coupe as well.

i live in tennessee and i payed $2069 after taxes (offered them $1500) for my 1991 hatchback SE, pw, pdl, sunroof, crappy carpet, no paint in some areas, engine floods, clutch is goin, dented quarter panel, se spoiler(when i say that i mean rusty hatch). you gotta awesome deal right there. you need to jump on that.

I got very lukcy. My brother found a 91 SE hatch (mine now) a couple of blocks from the house for $1200. It has given me some problems (seizing rear brakes, power steering, and an annoying whistling roof) but love it regardless. Good find.

yes im gonna buy it. i figure i can add power windows and locks myself later on. and as for the rear carpet, its not like anyone can fit back there anyways, so if people dont mind sitting there im sure they wouldnt mind their feet on the paint stain.

thanks guys.

edit: im only 17 right now and i have about 3k saved up for a car. you think 2 grand is enough for maintenance and repairs/ replacements to get it running perfectly?

I was going to launch into a big speech about why you should get it but I see you have decided to do so. Congratulations.

All those little options shouldn't matter too much. Its a drivers car and oh so fun to drive. Good luck with it
