Alright so i bought a 240sx se 1995 around a month ago for 1920.I know wierd price. 150k,5speed,vlsd,and rebuilt title. So far the car has had problems with the clutch and Master and Slave cylinder but replace both MC and SC for around 100. Hard to shift into gears and sometimes when i shift it wont go into gear and will grind. Bought new front fender and hood and drivers side lights for around 300. Got a new sunroof assembly b.c old one didnt line up and leaked 100. Needs new shocks and springs which is on the top of my list to do next, b/c owners befor me cut the stock springs to short and shocks are blown. And the paint is crap b/c they russian styled it and then bondoed straight over the original paint and in some places there was bondo about 1/2 to 3/4 of an inch. My big question is was it worth spending all that money for this car or should i just stop while iam ahead and try to sell it?

Price isnt that bad, but the chassis and body looks all fucked up. You can find an S13 in much better shape for the price.

man i was looking at that very car on nwnissans and thought to myself "man, nobody will every buy that" well sure enough i was wrong.
didn't teh price start out at like 4k for it or something rediculous.
all that you can really do is part it out.
the chassis is done for.
ignor the first comment i made though.
i'm just jealous i can't afford a 240. lol

hard to diagnose over the net
mashed up rad support? you can replace it cheap if you have a buddy with a spot welder. cut a good one out of a junkyard s14. to drill out the old one you need nothing more then a drill and some special drill bits. then you spot weld the new one in. done and done.
fender banged up? no biggy. junkyard parts. ditto for dented doors, broken bumper, and fucked up hood.
roof taped up... is that just because of a leaky sunroof or is there roof damage? if its just a leaky sunroof, thats not a big deal.
you need to check out the car. we can't tell 100% just over a few pics on the net.
it'd be cheaper to buy a clean s14 if you can find one... but i don't think that s14 is done. i've seen cars in faaaar worse condition come back from the brink.

fenders is pretty banged up, doors are dented as well. Bumper is not broken, we just removed the lip before we sold it. Because that was broken. And it is a leaky sunroof not roof damage. The owner put duct tape on roof. And when he tried to take out the duct tape. The paint chipped off. The owner was not too smart. it does drive suprisingly straight though no major structural damage, paint does need repainting as it's peeling horribly.

and i don't think your slave cylinder would have anything to do with it, the slave cylinder came off my brothers car. And i know that works perfect, i would rebleed the clutch. I would check the flywheel, and clutch. If you want anymore details about the car please pm me, i'll be happy to answer them.

based on that, sounds like its definitely fixable.
johnjunyi... cost effective? probaby not... but it can be depending on how good you are at cheap DIY repair.
otherwise it seems like a lot of cosmetics. in which case, the only major issue is the banged up radiator support.
tranny issue sounds like worn sychros and/or low gear fluid. get under the car and check the tranny for leaks, and check the gear fluid level as well. replace fluid with some redline or gm synchromesh and see if it clears up the problem a little.

I say buy another car, BUT dont look in the obvious autotrader.com or cars.com or forums whatever.... good luck finding a low price there.
If you buy another car, do what I did, drive around (hopefully you have another car, or in your friends car) and just look for adult driven 240s, pull up next to them and be like "A!! AA YOU!! YOU WANNA SELL YOUR CAR??? YOU CARRR DO YOU WANNA.... PU PU PULL OVER!!"
Old mexican lady, driving a clean S13 nice shiny red paint, clean ass interior, clean title, fogs, power everything, 150k miles never modded for a nice nice low price, adults usually dont know shit about their car, they think its old and they want a new one, they also dont think its worth much so you can pretty much negotiate any price, good luck

i wouldnt bother puttin too much time into it..... unless u plan on beating it half past death the way it stands right now.... damage i can tell is passed the door.. body wise... u really need to replace the radiator support since that thing looks really tweek'd... i would if i were u.... buy a cheap and swap the good stuff over... and part out whats left.. so that u can make some money back... u already spent 300 bucks ...and it really doesnt help all that much.. with the condition

i dunno...i wouldnt have bought it without a carfax. i definately wouldnt have bought it without a clear title. tennessee is wierd about rebuilt and salvage titles. if youre wanting a project car, its fine. its really not that bad. nothin a little work cant fix.
