I just got my 1989 240 back from the shop today (timing adjustment after my father and i installed the head) and my father decides it's a good idea to degrease the engine, so like 30 minutes after hosing it down he tells me to take it for a test drive, so i go out and 10 minutes later i notice a sudden loss of power, and immediately head back home. The car didn't turn off on me, which is good i think, but the engine sounds uneven, there's a recurring gap in and the engine noise and it sounds MUCH weaker.
...Possible suspects anyone?

You may have bad wires and the water on the engine compartment caused it to short and run poorly. I've seen it a million times, unless you have the sr20 and have the coil-over-plug setup then it might be caused by something else.

Definitely check your wires for resistance as well as their amperage. Or just buy brand new wires. Take your plugs out and see if they're wet at all.

Yay! Thanks for the replies!
It was something totally unrelated... one of the spark plug wires got knocked loose from the distributer cap.
It lives, It LIVES AGAIN!!
but the rim adapters make the car drive all wobbly :(
and it's idling rough like it always was :(
and my driver side door lock mechanism is stuck.... i'm gonna have to do it dukes of hazard style :(
and i can't drive it anyway because the insurance just expired :(
but it lives!!

/me hugs his GT2 240
